Both China and Pakistan have tried to prepare COMBODIA’s military to a great extent. And China’s game plan is that COMBODIA will emerge as a pro-China country between Vietnam and Thailand.

Why Is Pro-US Thailand Attacking Now?

But suddenly, we are seeing that pro-US Thailand has started attacking COMBODIA militarily. Now, where did all these issues start from?

Geographic and Demographic Comparison

If we compare both countries, where do the military forces of both countries stand? You know this is a very interesting topic because many of you may not even know about the countries, and you would never have expected that these two countries, where the majority religion is Buddhism, would go to war with each other.

Now, if we look at Thailand and COMBODIA on the map, you will see the map of Asia. This is our beloved India. And to the east of India, you will see these two countries. Thailand and COMBODIA. If you look from a distance, Thailand is a very big country compared to COMBODIA.

The population of Thailand is around 7.2 crore 20 lakhs. Whereas the population of COMBODIA is not even two crores. The population of COMBODIA is around one crore 70–80 lakhs.

Religion and Economic Gap

The interesting thing is that in both countries, more than 90% of the population follows the Buddhist religion. And if you want to see the actual difference between COMBODIA and Thailand, then focus on GDP. There is a huge difference.

That is why I found this conflict very strange. It seems that COMBODIA is fond of getting beaten up because recently, these people have also taken a lot of training from Pakistan for their military.

Pakistan’s Role in Training COMBODIA

Yes, literally, I am serious. In the year 2019, the Pakistani military had offered the COMBODIAn military that they will train COMBODIA. This is an obvious thing. You can understand. Since China is backing this country, Pakistan has also come in its support.

Economic and Defence Budget Disparity

But what support will it provide when there is such a huge difference in the economy? If you see, Thailand’s economy is $570 billion as per the nominal GDP. It is a humongous economy. Thailand’s economy is, by the way, bigger than Pakistan in size.

COMBODIA’s economy is only $33 billion. In the defence budget, if I talk about Thailand’s defence budget of $6 billion and COMBODIA’s $600 million. So, in short, you understand that COMBODIA is no match for Thailand.

Thailand is a country many times more powerful militarily, in terms of economy, and at the same time, it has a lot of open support from the US.

Historic Dispute Over Priya Ware Temple

Now, here you will ask, okay, now we know the profile of the country. Now, what is the dispute about? See, the dispute between the two countries is more than 100 years old, and the dispute is about a temple.

Religious and Nationalist Sentiment

The interesting thing is that, as I told you, both countries are Buddhist. But both countries have an obsessive nature about this temple because this temple is a part of our history. It is a thousand-year-old temple. It is said that many Indians also contributed to its construction.

Many books have been written about this temple, and the matter also went to the International Court of Justice, asking which country this temple belongs to. COMBODIA or Thailand?

Both countries fought cases against each other for many decades. There were conflicts many times. Many times, it also happened that Thailand used to deploy some of its soldiers around this temple. They used to make camps. COMBODIA used to say that this area is theirs.

So if you see the area overall, it is very small. There is no gold, no silver, no uranium here. But you can say that this temple is such an important part of history that both countries have always been very patriotic about the possession of this temple.

Chinese Military Expansion Raises Red Flags

Now, see, the one who does not know anything, even if someone is living in India, he may not know anything about what is happening; that is fine, but the knowledgeable people who are interested in the affairs of their country will openly say that this temple belongs to us.

Now, what is happening here that am I able to observe now? As China is arming COMBODIA, the government of Thailand, which is a pro-US country, has become alert about the extent to which China is interfering in COMBODIA.

The BBC’s article was published in 2004. The question in this article was whether China has quietly built a permanent military base in COMBODIA. If this is true, if China did this because let me tell you that China has recently opened a new overseas base in COMBODIA.

Here you will see that the USA has shown concern many times that China’s involvement is continuously increasing in COMBODIA, and due to this, see, COMBODIA’s sovereignty is getting endangered. COMBODIA is basically no longer an independent country. It has become a small colony of China.

Clashes Begin: Timeline of Escalation

So now you will not be surprised why this military tension has increased so much. Why has conflict suddenly started in what has been a disputed area for many decades?

Well, if you ask me to give you a timeline of when recently whose soldier died and when this conflict started, then I will tell you that in the disputed area I showed you around the temple, it is being said that soldiers of Thailand and COMBODIA clashed.

Then, a COMBODIAn soldier was killed after that, COMBODIA started firing on Thailand. And then in response to that, as I told you, Thailand started warming up COMBODIAn positions with F-16 fighter jets after getting permission from the US.

Current Status: Civilian Deaths and Border Sealed

Now, from then till now, we are seeing that 13 civilians have been killed. One Thai soldier has died. COMBODIA has also claimed that its soldiers have been killed, and COMBODIA is saying that Thailand is aggressing here. Both countries have sealed the border for now. The ambassadors have been called back, and now the world is just waiting to see if a formal declaration of war can be made here or not.

Will This Escalate into a Bigger War?

How long will the US wait? Honestly, if you ask me, this is a ticking time bomb. If you see my evaluation, COMBODIA is absolutely stuck in a debt trap. Its economy was never anything.

Now you know, you can connect the things with the information I have already given you in the video. COMBODIA always knew that it would have to become a vassal state of China to a large extent. Only then will it be able to survive. Otherwise, it was left far behind Thailand.

Future Scenario: Proxy War Between U.S. and China

Now the question here is to what extent the US will tolerate China’s takeover of COMBODIA. At some point in time, I am pretty sure a big war is bound to happen here. I won’t be surprised by that.

The Thai military will make the entire coastal area of COMBODIA and the entire temple area a part of Thailand. It is bound to happen. But the question here is that when COMBODIA is facing a lot of pressure, will China send its military to protect COMBODIA or not?

This is a proxy war. This is a proxy war between the US and China. Whichever country wins this proxy war, the dominance of that country will be seen in Southeast Asia for many decades to come.
