The F-35 is a great fighter plane but is overpriced. It is more expensive.

️ Inlet Duct Design for Radar Invisibility

Look, a fighter jet has to draw a lot of air into the engine to fly. For which, fighter jets of different countries use inlet ducts of different shapes. Some use rectangular, some trapezium, some use semi-oval shaped inlet ducts. Now, the problem here is that the compressor blades inside the jet engine, that is, the metallic fan, work like a mirror for radar waves. Understand it like this: how do you see an object? When light hits an object and comes back to our eyes. Radar also sees in the same way. When radio waves hit an object and come back, only then is the location of that object known.

Now in AMCA, we have made the path leading to the compressor blade curved like an S so that the radio waves cannot go straight to the compressor blade. And now, after reflecting inside the duct, they will not be able to go back to the radar after losing their energy and the plane will disappear from the radar.

RAM Coating – Turning Radar into Heat

Apart from this, RAM i.e. radar absorbing material coating will also be done on AMCA which will convert radio waves into energy i.e. radio waves will not go back after colliding. Now you can get RAM coating done here but after this you will have to pay the bills i.e. listen to the tantrums of this aircraft that you will have to bear.

️ RAM Maintenance – Temperature, Humidity & HEPA

RAM coating is very sensitive. It can get damaged in heat, ultraviolet radiation and high humidity. That is why it will have to be kept at a temperature of 20 to 25° for 24 hours i.e. in a controlled environment. Where humidity should be less than 50%. And this is nothing. No dust particle should fall on it. That is why HEPA filters will be used. That is, high efficiency particulate air filters will be used. Our hair is around 70 microns and these air filters will filter even particles 200 times smaller than that. Understand it like this, a satellite is made inside a clean room. To store this plane, we will have to maintain a clean room and you cannot park it on the ground.

For the first time in history, the TU160 roared into battle.

Why Now? And What Does It Mean?

The Strike of June 2025

The first week of June 2025 brought a significant change in the Russia-Ukraine war. On June 6, Russia made the dramatic decision to deploy its rarest and most advanced strategic bomber, the TU-160 M Blackjack, in actual combat for the first time. This was no test flight or demonstration of power. This was a full-blown operational mission, launching cruise missiles at Ukrainian targets.

Ukraine’s Operation Spiderweb

The timing is no coincidence—a quick reminder to 1st June, when Ukraine executed one of its boldest strikes yet. Under the operation named Spiderweb, Ukrainian forces launched a series of long-range drone attacks across Russian territory. These weren’t symbolic hits. This was strategic sabotage. Their targets. Deep inland air bases like Balayya near Irkutsk and Olenia in the remote Mongolian region. Using truck-launched drones, Ukrainian forces managed to destroy or turn off around 40 Russian aircraft. Among them were TU22 Backfire and TU95 Bear Bombers, pillars of Russia’s long-range strike capability. Germany’s military later assessed that around 10% of Russia’s strategic bomber fleet had been neutralised in just one operation. US intelligence painted an even grimmer picture. Up to 20 bombers struck, with at least 10 confirmed destroyed. For Russia, this was not only a military setback but a humiliation. And don’t expect Russia to do nothing.

Russia’s Retaliation With the TU-160M 

Then enter the TU160M. On June 6th, just 5 days after the drone assault, two TU160s took off as part of a retaliatory wave. Alongside a bomber formation, they launched a total of 36 KH 101 cruise missiles aimed at Ukrainian military infrastructure. While the full damage assessment remains classified, one thing is clear. This was Russia’s way of proving that it still held escalation dominance even after taking a severe blow. Deploying the TU160 sent two messages. First, that Russia could bounce back rapidly from strategic losses and second, that it was willing to burn its most powerful card not in nuclear war but in conventional retaliation. The message was loud, and the world was listening.

So, what exactly is the TU160M, and why does its entrance into the battlefield matter so much? The Tu-160 M is not just another heavy bomber. It is the fastest, most powerful operational bomber in the world today. A marvel of Soviet era design fused with 21st-century upgrades.

Let’s start with performance. The TU160M can fly at speeds over Mach 2. That’s more than 2,200 km/h. With a combat radius of 12,000 km without refuelling, this bomber can reach any theatre of war on the planet and return home. Its variable sweep wing design allows it to operate efficiently at both subsonic and supersonic speeds, giving it unmatched versatility. And when it comes to payload, this flying behemoth can carry up to 40 tons of ordinance internally. That includes nuclear or conventional KH101 cruise missiles, all stored inside the fuselage to reduce radar cross-section and maintain aerodynamic stability.

2025 Upgrades the Tupolev Tu-160

But the real evolution lies in its 2025 upgrades, Tupolev Tu-160. The new Tupolev Tu-160 variant comes with a fully digital cockpit, a glass cockpit layout that streamlines avionics and data processing. It features stealth coding enhancements, an advanced electronic warfare suite capable of jamming enemy radars and upgraded NK 3202 turbofan engines, delivering 10% more thrust than their predecessors. Protection hasn’t been ignored either. The crew sits inside an armoured cockpit, and the aircraft is equipped with flare and chaff dispensers to mislead incoming missiles. Altogether, the TU160M isn’t just a bomber. It’s a high-speed missile platform designed to enter contested airspace, unleash destruction from a distance, and leave before anyone can react.

It has openly told India to choose its words carefully about the Dalai Lama and Tibet.

So whenever we try to align with the US or any other power against China, the geopolitical equation will be disturbed somewhere. For example, let me show you, headlines of this type were published everywhere that India rejected signing the statement of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization because it was pro-Pakistan. Here, the attacks in Balochistan on the Pakistan Army were mentioned. The Pahalgam attack was not being mentioned.

The international media has published such a headline. BBC publishes a different headline that India refused to sign the joint statement over Kashmir. They should simply write that terrorism is an issue here. Terrorism was not being acknowledged.

India’s Firm Stand Against Terrorism

Dr. Jaishankar said that we did not sign the SCO declaration because terrorism was not acknowledged. Many people in India started thinking that the SCO is a very big group. But remember, Pakistan is a member, and many times you can say that the SCO is informally led by China.

China and Pakistan have together saved Pakistani terrorists in the UN many times. So this is nothing new. It is not a surprise that there was a terrorist attack in India, and Pakistan stopped this mention of Pahalgam, and China supported Pakistan.

Russia remained silent to a large extent. As for the rest of the countries, again, if you look at any other country in the SCO, none of them are economically significant compared to the Quad.

Jaishankar sahab also said the Pahalgam terrorist attack was a type of economic warfare. The attack was done to damage the tourism sector of Jammu and Kashmir. There is a fear that if tourists go to Kashmir, an attack might happen.
